About
Rhapsody Lodge is a classic mountain home in a peaceful neighborhood near shops & recreational facilities. The large alpine property is a 2-block walk down to the lake's sandy beaches, a 1-block walk up to hiking trails, and close to ski areas. Easy flat access. The Lodge has all the comforts of home, including WiFi, flat-screen TVs, full kitchen & laundry room. Indoor dining for 8. Deck & fenced yard with tables, BBQ, hot tub, ping-pong & more. Local manager on call. Flexible check-out time.
The Space
Rhapsody Lodge's living room has wood paneling, a wooden beamed ceiling, a gas fireplace, plenty of comfortable seating, a large flat-screen TV, board games, books, and a record player to play your favorite albums to get the dance party started.
Two bedrooms, including the master, are upstairs. The master bedroom has a deck, a walk-in closet, a recliner, and a free-standing gas stove. The bedrooms share a bathroom with a shower and jacuzzi tub. At the top of the stairs is a small TV loft perfect for kids' movie nights. At the base of the stairs is a study which has a couch and a desk and is connected to a 1/2 bathroom.
The two downstairs bedrooms share a bathroom with a shower and tub combo. The back bedroom is a captured bedroom, but it does have its own outside entrance/exit. There is a small vestibule connecting the two rooms and the bathroom. All four bedrooms have closets, dressers & nightstands.
The large kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, small appliances, tableware, and utensils. It also has a gas stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator. The dining table seats eight comfortably. Don't all parties all end up in the kitchen?!! Off the kitchen is the laundry room with a washer and dryer.
The large fenced yard has a hot tub on the deck, BBQ, picnic tables, and a badminton court. Ping-pong, corn hole, darts, and other gear can be found in the 2-car garage. We have had many a "Tahoe-lympics" in the driveway, so may your best sportsperson win!!
Guest Access
The entire house is available to guests except for a few locked cabinets & closets. The 4-bedroom configuration, which sleeps up to 8, is ideal for families, couples, and those friends you've had since high-school/college who get together every year.
Other Things to Note
Throughout the house are detailed instructions for various appliances. Also, there is a physical guidebook for the cabin underneath the living room coffee table.
The BBQ is a gas grill.
Please put all trash into the bear boxes located by the driveway.
Do not store food outside or inside your cars to prevent serious damage caused by racoons or bears.
Neighborhood Highlights
Our quiet neighborhood consists of mostly long-time owners and residents. King's Beach is a 4-minute drive and Tahoe City is a 20-minute drive. Our central location gives you access to all that the North Lake Tahoe basin has to offer.
N. Tahoe Regional Park is a 2-minute drive and has many free activities including baseball & soccer fields, disc golf, playgrounds & picnic areas. Walk or bike on a paved trail. You can reserve a tennis or pickleball court. Try Tahoe Treetop Adventures for zip-lining and ropes course fun.
For summer days at the lake, Agatam Beach & Moon Dunes are walking distance from the house, and Kings Beach is less than 2 miles down the road. All 3 are wonderful sandy beaches great for relaxing, swimming, kayaking, SUP'ing, jet-skiing & more.
Northstar Resort is a 10-minute drive and offers snow sports in the winter, and golf & horseback riding in the spring and summer. Palisades, Alpine, Mt. Rose, & Diamond Peak ski resorts are a bit longer drive but worth the extra miles.
Old Brockway Golf Course is a 2-minute drive and our favorite spot to golf. You can't beat the views and a post-round drink at Spindleshanks is a must! Ponderosa Golf Course in Truckee is another place we love to golf. There are also 2 mini golf courses - one in King's Beach, the other in Carnelian Bay for loads of family fun.
Safeway is a 2-minute drive from the Lodge.
For dining locally, we recommend Lanza's, Spindleshanks, Jason's, Las Panchitas, Garwoods, The Grid, The Char Pit, & Pep's Place. There is also plenty of great places in Tahoe City, Truckee & Incline.
Please check out our Guidebooks for Activities and Dining Recommendations for more detailed information about our favorite places to play and eat!
Getting Around
We have a 2-car garage and driveway spots for 3 cars.
During the winter you MUST carry chains or have AWD or 4x4. Roads can be shut down without warning so have backup plans ready. Also, snow-plowing the driveway may require you to have to move your cars temporarily.
There is a public bus stop within 2 blocks at Hwy. 28 & Pino Grande Avenue which can take you to neighboring towns and ski resorts. To see bus arrival time in real-time, download the "NextBus" app on your smart phone. In winter, additional ski shuttle buses are provided. Tahoe Connect also offers rides for free.
Reno Tahoe International Airport (RNO) - A shuttle operates a few times a day. Advanced reservation is required. Call North Tahoe Express.
There is a bike lane on the side of the road to Kings Beach, Tahoe City, Squaw Valley and Northstar.
